voltage to the minimum RF voltage along the line. SWR may be calculated from the return loss
(RL) using the following equation.
SWR = (1+(10RL/20))/((10RL/20)-1))
6.5 Insertion loss example. The following figure is provided as an example to show the
matched impedance splice attenuation relative to the MIL-DTL-17 cable attenuation. In this
example, the performance is based on matched impedance splice leads using MIL-DTL-17
cables that are 5 feet (total length both leads 10 feet).
